Fewer Companies Filing Going Concern Qualifications In 2010
Audit Analytics has released its Going Concern research which analyzed audit opinions for fiscal years 2000 through 2010.
Highlights from the report include:
- Going concern qualifications peaked in 2007 at 3,300 and have gone down each year since.
- The drop since 2007 can be attributed to the number of companies that filed a going concern qualification and subsequently terminated their SEC registration.
- 637 new going concerns are expected to be filed in fiscal year 2010, a decrease of 119 from 2009.
