AUDIT ANALYTICS RELEASES NON-AUDIT FEES ANALYSIS
Briefing Examines Ongoing 6 Year Trend

A new report by Audit Analytics examines the 6 year decrease in non-audit fees paid by accelerated filers since 2002. The report comprises a population of 3,390 Accelerated Filers who have filed each year from 2002 through 2007.

This report analyzes both the amount paid in non-audit fees as a percentage of total revenue and non-audit fees per million dollars in revenue. Although total non-audit fees increased slightly in 2007, non-audit fees as a percentage of total revenue continued to decline.

The report also compares non-audit fees to audit fees. Prior to 2002 non-audit fees made up the greater part of total fees. However from 2002 to 2007 (the years covered in this report) audit fees comprise the bulk of the fees paid by accelerated filers to their independent auditors. This analysis should prove useful for continuing to gauge the effects of Sarbanes-Oxley on companies, auditors and consultants.
