In advance of an April 4 PCAOB meeting concerning the same subject, Audit Analytics released a Going Concerns Snapshot. The data for 2008 was incomplete because not all the filings for that year have been submitted. Now, in response to subscriber requests, the report has been expanded to include a prediction for the rest of 2008.

The expanded report shows that 2008 is expected to see the highest amount and percentage of Going Concerns notations received so far this decade.

Both the number and precentage of Going Concerns Notations have been steadily increasing since 2004. In 2007 there were 3,293 Going Concerns Opinions issued, the highest number of the decade so far. 3,489 such notations are predicted for 2008. To date, 1,780 Going Concerns opinions have been filed for fiscal year 2008.
